ARTIST STATEMENT:
My practice investigates "memories of the natural world", "elements of the built world", and "implements of the industrial world".
I explore these subjects through painting, printmaking, photography and mixed media. With training in visual art, architecture and design, my work is grounded in principles of color theory, perspective & composition. Through the process of art making, the subject, materials & methods inform the direction of each series. I test limits through "minds-eye" impression, abstraction & obscuration of both macro and micro elements.
My artwork endeavors to push the boundary of known and unknown places and spaces, invoking the potential for curiosity and shift in perception for the viewer.
